Synthetic Yellow Iron Oxide

Synthetic yellow iron oxide hydroxide, supplied in a standard grade for cementitious and dry-mix systems and in a jet-milled micronized grade for coatings and inks. Yellow is most often used in blend with red and black to reach buff, tan and sandstone shades.

Thermal limit. Yellow iron oxide dehydrates to red iron oxide on sustained heating above roughly 150–180 °C. It is not suitable for autoclaved products, high-temperature extrusion or any process that holds the pigment above that range. Confirm the peak process temperature before specifying yellow.
